2019 REFEREE TRAINING SESSIONS
Soccer Referees Needed
The Athletic Association is looking for Boys and Girls in 7th grade and up to referee SOCCER for the upcoming season. Adult referees are also needed. Please e-mail Michelle Bess at MichelleBess486@gmail.com to be added to the ref list. Bring a pen and paper for notes. All referees must attend a training session.
NEW THIS YEAR
All referee training will be uniform throughout all of the districts. All districts will move to one standard online test. The test is planned to be 50 multiple choice questions. It will be open book. You can find the cyc soccer rules book at: www.cycstl.net Referees have two chances to pass the test. After that, if they want to try again, they would be referred back to the district.
The new online test for soccer is posted on the CYC website at http://www.cycstl.net/officials.
Referees need to pass the online test before attending the referee training “clinic”. Referees can attend any clinic at any location throughout all of the district.
Clinic main focus will be on referees with three or fewer years of officiating experience. Again, referees can attend clinics in any district as their schedules permit since training will be uniform across all districts.
Training will focus mainly on rules as they pertain to 5th through 8th grade. CYC main office will accumulate the testing results and farm out to each district. I will then pass the results for West County onto each parish referee coordinator.
