DEAR PARENTS
A 17 year old student requesting the Sacrament of Confirmation recently wrote: “I don’t go to Mass to ‘get something out of it. I go to give something to it. – namely, my worship and gratitude to God.”
I felt that it was a profound observation and that he was right on target! The very word – Eucharist – as you probably already know, means thanksgiving. So the Mass, the Eucharist, is the most sacred effective, powerful way that we can praise our astoundingly gracious Lord, who has blessed us in countless ways!
One of my pastoral priorities as your pastor is to offer ongoing support to parents who strive to deepen faith, awaken hope and nurture love in your family – as Jesus did.
One of the first things that I noticed when I first entered our school building was the following statement that is on the front wall:
Be it known to all who enter here
that Christ is the reason for this school,
the unseen but ever-present teacher in its classes,
the model of its faculty
the inspiration of its students.
Thank you for your support of Holy Infant Parish School of Religion. Please join me in asking for God’s blessing as we continue to prepare our young men and women of Holy Infant for their lifelong adventure in faith.
Gratefully in Christ,
Rev. Edward J. Stanger
Pastor
